Upgrading a cable car system across protected landscape

Challenge
Taking the cable car journey to the Rock’s summit features as one of Gibraltar’s top tourist attractions. Rising to 412m above sea level, the visitor experience and capacity of the existing system needs to adapt and improve, to meet with growing long-term demand.
To ensure minimal impact on the associated protected landscape, our environmental team worked closely with project partners, applying extensive working knowledge of the biodiversity of Gibraltar’s challenging landscape, to provide robust consultation and design advice, to inform the planning application now submitted.
