With surveying season about to start, it's timely to share our ecology calendar - a handy guide to annual windows for UK species.
First up are great crested newts, which need to be investigated and surveyed between mid March and mid June. It’s also worth highlighting that should habitats for this species be identified, follow up monitoring will be required.
For sites either near or containing ponds, it is therefore advisable to plan ahead.
Please note that the following calendar provides a general guide. For clear advice and meaningful ecology surveys, interpreted with a strategic development approach, please get in touch.
We work quickly to diagnose critical issues affecting a site, advising the course of action most efficient and appropriate for planning and construction.
