2016 has undoubtedly proved a memorable year, punctuated by major news headlines and political changes with global ramifications.
We’re pleased to report that it’s been a successful time for Engain, following a number of new projects and introductions, which we look forward to developing in the new year.
2017 will see us continuing to provide strategic environmental advice, for global construction contractors planning sustainable power supplies for small islands.
In the UK, the Engain team will be keeping an eye on the implications of Brexit, particularly in terms of its impact on environmental and wildlife legislation and policies, to best advise strategic land owners and house builders on protecting common ecological assets.
Nikki will be following up on her recent visit to Malta, returning to discuss sustainable energy supply, waste management, climate adaptation strategies and reporting.
Our climate adaptation expertise will be focused on the economic future of small islands. We’ll be addressing more strategic planning for Jamaica, and contacting other national focal points in the Caribbean, offering our services for updating their Intended Nationally Determined Contributions (INDC), alongside additional work on national communications and biennial update reports on climate, for the UNFCCC.
Engain continues to develop a team of expertise that can provide broad stakeholder facilitation, capacity building and institutional strengthening, in the areas of climate mitigation and adaptation strategies.
