Twin Cities masterplan for Islamabad and Rawlpindi

Challenge

The Government of Pakistan were looking for inspirational design of prime land in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawlpindi. The area is situated overlooking a vast national forest with spectacular views, and presented an opportunity for economic growth with sustainable environmental development. We were introduced to the multi-skilled design team as environmental and sustainability experts, bringing UK scrutiny to the due diligence process.

Our environmental presentations to Ministers on behalf of our client bidding for this major Government development project helped to secure the commission.

We were then retained to conduct the Environmental Impact Assessment of the design for the proposed leisure and tourism masterplan.

Using UK criteria to assess the masterplan we ensured all social issues and environmental features were thoroughly considered during the design development, and that significant features were protected and embraced by the development.
