Engain is excited to be working again on one of the South West's most iconic projects, the re-development of Drake's Island.
Historically, Engain has supported the works to attain consent for the development on the island and more recently has been working as GIUK’s Environmental Advisor. With its mix of historical, ecological and maritime interests, Drake’s Island offers a unique opportunity to develop and renovate an island historic monument. Engain looks forward to assisting GIUK throughout the consenting processes and during construction, to safeguard the future of Drake’s Island as a highly valuable asset for Plymouth.
Jack Spurway, Engain’s Project Lead said “It’s amazing to realise that Sir Francis Drake sailed from this island in 1577 to circumnavigate the world. In this current worldwide shifting paradigm, it is an honour to help sensitive economic development move forward. Thanks to Plymouth City Council and all other stakeholders for working with us, in new safe and flexible ways to achieve this.”
