Ben is a Principal Ecologist with over 8 years’ experience across both private and public sector projects, encompassing residential housing developments, large scale road schemes, cycles routes, railway, mineral and waste schemes.

Ben is responsible for a variety of tasks, including, ES technical appendices, EcIA and PEA’s, project and budget management, survey design, client liaison, tendering, quality assurance, operation management and specialist field surveys.

Ben has exemplary skills in botanical and ornithological surveys and species identification which he has applied across a number of high-profile projects. This has included auditing the survey work of other consultants on high profile projects, including HS2.

Ben holds Natural England Great Crested Newt and Barn Owl Licences, a Botanical Society of Britain and Ireland – Field Identification Certificate, Level 4 and is a Full Member of CIEEM.

• Minerals and waste – Lead Ecologist for mine water, and landfill and waste remediation facilities.
• Rail Schemes – Lead ecologist, surveyor and ecological assurance services for Network Rail and HS2.
• Road Schemes – Lead ecologist and surveyor in a variety of road widening and new relief road schemes.
• Residential and Commercial – Ecologist on a variety of projects from single unit re-developments to >1000 unit mixed use developments.
