Engain Team gains new Principal Ecologist

The Engain team are delighted to welcome our new Principal Ecologist and Ecology Team Leader, Lizy Tinsley.

Lizy comes to Engain from WSP with an impressive record of almost a decade of ecological consultancy experience – from getting hands-on with great crested newts to navigating sustainability legislation. She has worked for clients across renewable and energy projects, and housing and infrastructure schemes.

She will be leading a busy team delivering projects that include ecology, environmental impact assessments and planning. Lizy will be taking the helm with existing clients as well as developing new business opportunities.

Lizy is also finalising a PhD at the University of Bristol, looking at ‘The impacts and implications of solar farms on British bat species’ and visits solar farms across the South West to gather data. She has particular knowledge of both solar and wind farm developments.

Lizy Tinsley, Principal Ecologist and Ecology Team Leader stated, I am thrilled to be joining Engain.  Despite the current remote working circumstances, the team have made me feel very welcome and supported.  I am excited to step into the team leader role and start growing the company’s ecology and environmental capabilities alongside Matt and Nikki.  My priority for the team is to continue developing our offering of specialist senior advisors with excellent delivery skills, whilst nurturing a supportive and diverse environment

Matt Davies, Director and Head of Ecology at Engain, said: ‘We have found an exceptional talent in Lizy, and I am really looking forward to working together to build and develop our team and business. She has a fantastic track record, and I am sure our clients will be rewarded by her involvement. She also has great leadership skills, and our team, associates and clients will really benefit from Lizy’s balanced and fresh approach to ecological consulting.’

Nikki Wood, Managing Director of Engain, said: ‘Following an unprecedented year for us all, we are excited that Lizy is joining us to grow and develop our team of professionals in response to the demand for our quality ecological and environmental services.
