Celebrating 15 years
15th November 2018
Our heritage specialists have been supporting a number of developers and estate owners - providing consultancy and robust ecological data, to protect assets, ensure a balance in project benefits and enrich applications planned for the new year.
Now the clocks have gone back and autumn colour returned, it’s an opportune point to focus on the year ahead – to determine scope for ecological activity required for applications intended for the coming months.
Our experience and breadth of species monitoring expertise has been applied to a variety of recent projects and schemes, including fulfilling the requirements of a Local Plan for high quality housing in Surrey, while enhancing and managing the ecological value of a significant section of land; informing the design and layout of holiday lodges at an estate in Somerset; creating a robust application for the intended mixed use of a former tannery site in Wiltshire, for high quality work space and sustainable housing.
The nature of these projects can be complex and sensitive, often requiring the monitoring and management of a number of European protected species, to gain necessary ecology licences and data to inform scheme designs and ensure a positive built and natural environment balance.
Given the various steps and period of species monitoring and reporting needed to support such schemes, we advise early discussion and planning.
Typically we would begin with an ecological appraisal, to determine survey scope. We advise and operate efficiently, providing robust site relevant data and ensuring delivery against project deadlines.
